Raspberry Banana "Green" Smoothie

Good morning! I know these posts are few and far between but we are now 16 days out from the wedding. Can anyone say stressed and excited? There is still a small mountain of stuff to get done and I'm pushing to have everything done by next Friday so that the week of all I have to do is get pampered, set-up, and getting married! :D

So I've been experimenting with some smoothie recipes and happened upon the Dr. Oz cleanse. I've never seen a full show much less follow what he does but it seemed legit and from what I've read from other bloggers these smoothies were pretty good!

So here is the breakfast smoothie that is part of the program. (I'm not doing this program, just trying out the breakfast smoothie!



Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Water or any liquid. Next time I would maybe try orange juice or some yogurt.
  • 1 Tablespoon Flaxseed
  • 1 Cup Raspberries (Best if frozen)
  • 1 Banana (Best if ripe, cut up, and then frozen)
  • ¼ Cup Spinach
  • 1 Tablespoon Almond Butter
  • 2 teaspoons of Lemon Juice
Blend all together and serve cold!

Make sure your bananas are ripe. The smoothie is not very sweet is you make it with water so just be aware!

Hope you all enjoy! In the next few days I'll be posting on how to cook up ramen noodles. They are so much better with veggies and some Asian sauce!
