Trees! I absolutely love the recent rustic craze that has
popped up among brides! The barns, the lacy wedding dresses, the Ball jars full
of wildflowers; it’s just great! I think that my love of hiking and the woods
also has something to do with my love of incorporating this flora into
weddings.
Let’s be honest with each other, I may seem calm and
collected, but I tell you what, the first few months of engagement were mostly utilized
with letting the crazies out. Just because Duchess Catherine lined the hall of
Westminster Abbey with trees DOES NOT mean that I can as well!
Let’s out collective
sigh…all of the wedding party and fiancĂ©
I kid you not I was formulating a plan about going out into
the woods an uprooting trees to line the aisle of the church. I very
enthusiastically told my fiancé and a few friends my thorough plan of how this
was all going to pan out, carefully detailing each step to let them know that
it was a totally plausible thing to do.
And was VERY quickly shot down!
Some brides have done a nice job in incorporating various
tall centerpieces. From surfing the latest bridal forums and website manzanita
branches are highly popular and to be frank, a lot more than I would be willing
to pay for a piece of broken off tree.
Having said that, if tree type figures do make it into the
wedding it will come form the cheapest form I can find them: the backyard.
It’s been said though that the amount of time you think it
takes to complete a DIY project you should probably multiply that by about 5
and that will be the actual amount of time.
Needless to say I have some serious planning to do!
I won’t lie and say all of my wild ideas haven’t evaporated.
We still have a year to go! But I will say that fireworks and full sized trees
have already made their way out the door.
Thanks for hanging on for the ride! Next week, we will be
continuing again with some less personal wedding stuff. So stay tuned!!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend and enjoy the fall
weather that has finally arrived!
