Is it just me or is it sometimes we go to weddings and we see the same five colors, with the same flowers, symbols and invites over and over again. I know the task of planning a wedding can be daunting to some but that doesn't mean it has to be cookie-cutter!

This weeks Wedding post is going to be dedicated to one of the most popular color combinations: black and white. I want to show you some of the fun and creative ways brides have used these colors and trust me what they came up with is not cliche.

Let's start out with bridal attire.

Now I'm usually not into having color on wedding dresses but I think this dress looks really put together and complements the grooms tux.

The fabric on her sash and the grooms flower are also made out of similar material.

One good thing about having a simple color combo is that it is easy to find dresses that complement everyone.

Again, it brings up the contrast with having all of the bridesmaids in black and the bride in white.

What what girl can be mad about having to buy a little black dress! I can always be worn out again.

This table is super chic and not overly blah. The white flowers bring in a really modern touch and the candelabras add height to it.

And to me it wouldn't be a wedding without a cake! I love super tall cakes. I think that they made a really big statement.

These cakes here are really great. The designs on then make them very modern and interesting. They are almost to pretty to eat.

Almost...

Your stationary is another place to spice things up. Since it is only black and white in color it is important to use different texts, sizes, shapes, and lines to create variety and interest.

Using black calla lilies in bouquets is a way to add another layer to the black and white theme. They are pretty easy to come by and would also work for corsages and boutonnieres.

I hope this weeks post brought to light how incorporating different touches here and there can really make a ho-hum color combination really stand out.

Until next week have some fun!
