The day after Christmas as I was putting my presents away I realized something: I have a ton of cookbooks. And not only that but all of them except one I've actually made something out of! That blows my mind! So all they are doing is sitting and collecting dust on my shelf instead of getting grease marks and torn pages from being used.
That got me thinking about what I was going to do about these 14 cookbooks that have really never been used. So as I sat down and made my 2013 To-do List I decided to put my solution on the list.
In 2013 I have decided to make two things from each of my cookbooks. Right now I have 14 cookbooks in my collection and they range from all sorts of topics. From all about sweets to healthy to fun!
So here is my list:
1. Cookies, cookies, and more cookies
2. Pies, Pies, and more pies
3. Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade 2
4. Weight Watchers- 5 ingredient, 15 minutes Meals
5. Forever Summer: Nigella Lawson
6. Nigella Bites
Nigella Lawson is probably my favorite foreign chef! Next to Gordon Ramsey and his scallops. I love her show and eventhough some of her recipes are kinda weird. I'm weird so we click!
The picture at the top of the post is a picture out of Nigella Bites. There is a great reciepe for an apple and blackberrie kuchen. Yummy for breakfast!
7. 30 minutes Meals 2
I will be timing myself. I just decided!
8. Biggest Looser Cookbook
9. Biggest Looser Family Cookbook
10. Bountiful Delights
11. Perfect Picture Weightloss Cookbook
12. The Silver Spoon (An Italian cookbook that has been translated. It honestly reminds me of a potions book!)
13. Mama's Italian Cookbook
I can guarentee that Carbonara is going to be one of the chosen recipes out of this one!
And last but probalby the cookbook I'm most excited about is...
14. The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook
Harry Potter has been a huge part of my literary life. I have read the series through three times and that doesn't count all of the times I read the earlier books while I waited for the newer books to come out. I own all of the Harry Potter books that JK Rowling published and I can't wait to read them again!
Alright back to cooking...
Now to do the math for you that's 28 recipes or about one every other week. Really that's not hard! I am going to add a tab at the top of the page so you can see the list of cookbooks, get the links to what I make, and see where I am at in the process.
I want to thank you readers for hanging on for the ride! It's going to be a great year!
And again, I love feed back! What do see a recipe out of a certain cookbook first? Let me know!
