I came across this pie recipe on thepioneerwoman.com. Ree is a lovely lady and her recipes are awesome. Although I try to steer clear of some of the stuff she makes (olives, ick!) but for the most part they are really great.
So now to the pie. So easy! And only 5 ingredients. It's sure to be a crowd pleaser at your next holiday gathering.
Just make sure your slices are small. It is incredibly heavy and rich. I had thought about breaking up some Butterfingers candy bars into it but in all honesty, I probably won't have been able to eat it because of the sweetness.
So here we go!
All you will need is a block of cream cheese, smooth peanut butter, powdered sugar, a tub of cool whip, and a pre-made chocolate crust
If you wanted to be all fancy pants about it you could make your own crust by processing about 25 oreos and some butter together and then baking it at 350 for 5-6 mins.
But alas, I chose to take the easy way out! Although next time I will get an actual oreo pre-made crust. This one just wasn't chocolate enough for me.
Take your soften block of cream cheese and a cup of room temperature smooth peanut butter and beat together.
If you have a KitchenAide mixer now would be the time to break it out. I'm pretty sure my little hand mixer was going to blow up! But you have to mix and mix and mix until it is completely combinded.
Now you'll want to add in a cup and a fourth cup of powdered sugar. I added it about half at a time but I'm not sure if that was necessary.
Please disregard the swip someone took out of the whipped cream.
Whoever could that have been?
Mix, mix, mix, mix
When everything is thoroghly combined, spread the mixture into the crust.
Now you'll want to let this chill for at least an hour before serving. Licking the bowl will have to suffice for now!
This was a huge hit with my family and is already gone. I think my they both had good birthdays, especially my sister who has now entered the driving world. So watch out!
Hope you all are having a nice weekend. I'll be back Monday with a continuation of my Thanksgiving feast.
