These past few weeks have been so nice and I have gotten to spend a lot of time outside and at the pool. It is been great in so many ways.
This year my good friend Bobbi and I have started a garden. After killing a few rounds of plants we finally have gotten the ball rolling. Our herbs are doing outstanding. I will be using them for a roast chicken. I will be posting about him next week in a recipe that was inspired by one on the Pioneer Woman's website.
I absolutely love summer food. And none stands out more in my mind than berries. I love using them in all sorts of different things from salads, to desserts, to drinks. They really are so versatile!
I came across a recipe on pinterest for dried strawberries and I immediately thought, Yes! This is so the recipes for me! Combining fruit and something to much on. Perfect! It really is super easy! I'm sorry I don't have pictures but seriously, you don't need them!
Set your oven to 215 degrees F.
Then quarter or halve strawberries depending on their size.
Sprinkle salt on them and then pop them in the oven for 3 hours.
When they come out they will be little mushy so set them in the fridge and they will toughen up.
Honestly, they taste like a fruit roll up. So yummy!
I hope you all are doing well and thanks again for reading!
These sound so good!!! Is the salt necessary? I have to watch my salt intake so wonder how the strawberry chips would be without salt.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know it is because it is what fuels the drying process. I'll try and look to see if there is another method.
