17 Day Diet- Cycle 1 Day 1

As you may know, I am engaged. I have a profile on theknot.com that I frequent looking for the latest wedding ideas, update my wedding website, and manage my growing guest list. On of the features on the website is an interactive to-do list. The first thing on the list, you may ask? Get in Wedding Day shape by eating right and exercising. So here we are at the first day of the first cycle.

I have found that the first day is not hard because your body is still eating off of the junk you ate yesterday in anticipation of starting the diet today.  Hence, my breakfast ritual has not really been the best today.

I didn't have my lemon water.

There I said it.

But I do have a water bottle with some pre-made lemon water that will get me through the next two days.

My fiance and I went out for a walking this morning so my first meal of the day was a brunch and we went to McDonalds.

You did what!? I thought you were on a diet?

The key to making a food change is being able to adapt to where ever you are eating. I think that it is unrealistic to think that for 17 straight days, that's 51 meals, that you are not going to dine out.

So for brunch, I had the Bacon Ranch salad with grilled chicken and a large tea sweetened with splenda.

Sorry the picture is not so great. My camera informed me that the batteries are exhausted. Figures...

I had yogurt and apples for my snacks and some green beans and chicken for dinner. And the best thing, I don't feel hungry!

As you can tell this day was far from perfect and the order of things were off. But all in all, it was a good day and I plan on making tomorrow an even better one.

Well I am off to the grocery to fill in the gaps in my fridge. There is a farmers market today as well.

Until tomorrow :D

  1. You forgot your green tea too! Yikes! I actually forgot it was day 1. (insert forehead slapping emoticon here) Luckily I only put cream in my coffee. No lemon water, and added green tea powder to my protein smoothie. Congratulations on making it through day 1. You will do great!

  2. Way to go Cara! I love that when you eat healthy you don't have those weird cravings or the constant need to munch. Keep up the awesome work! :)
