Getting Back on the Wagon

I think one of the biggest themes when you are dealing with goals is never quitting and getting back on the wagon. Let's be honest, my last stint on the 17 Day Diet lasted about 3 days or so. And needless to say there were no goals met of any sort.

But no matter how hard you fall, how many times you fall, or where you have fallen off at in your journey, if you get back up and keep going, have you really failed in the first place? Perseverance is the key here.

I have had some changes in the workout plan lately. My family got a pass to the local aquatic center so now I have access to the pool and all of the fitness classes they provide. I'm glad because it gives me some variety. Also my fiancee joined the gym as well so now I have a workout buddy again.

Working out has never been my issue though, that has been food, specifically sweets. I have never met one that I haven't liked. I know we are about a third of the way through June  now but it is my goal to track my food for most of the rest of the month.

If you have never tracked food before you should do it, even for just one day. I think that some of you would be really surprised at where your calories comes from and eventhough you are eating healthy, you may be eating too much. That one piece of multi-grain bread is 140 calories. So if you are eating 1400 calories a day there goes 10% of your daily allotment of calories? Made a sandwich? That's 1/5 of your whole day's worth of food not counting what's inside the sandwich! I'm not saying that multi-grain bread is bad for you, you just have to work it in in moderation.

Just in case anyone was wondering I use sparkpeople.com to track all of my food and exercise. It is a really great website and it is free. Another one that I have heard good things about is fitness pal. Regardless of which one you use, they are both great tools to track food and exercise, meet new people, and learn more about being a healthier person.

I hope you all are having a great weekend and I am very sorry for the month between posts. It has definitely not been my intention to wait so long.

Thanks for reading!

  2. I was just about to stop by and ask you how the new cycles were going. I'm ready to start it over again Hubby is taking off for 10 days and I'm going to use the time to focus on myself and get this thing down right. Sugar cravings have been hitting hard lately. Good luck! You can do it!
